A modern new construction home sits on a rural site near a lake community outside of the Kansas City metro. The architectural design boasts simple geometry and massing that informs the interior order and organization of the spaces. KBID was added to the collaborative team to bring the interiors to life and inspire a design solution and feel that would bleed from interior to exterior. Our solution was driven from the established schematic architecture and learning what the clients aesthetic preferences were. We created a design concept based on timeless materiality, clean and simple massing and layers of warmth to create a modern, but livable family home. The finish materials, casework, fixtures and interior details followed the design drivers into completion. Textures and warm natural hues provide a comfortable and restful retreat for this family to thrive and grow.
